Join us every Sunday at the West Van Community Centre for a transformative yoga session designed specifically for managing chronic pain. Led by our expert instructor Kathy and Dr. Parisa Soltani, these sessions blend physical postures, breathing exercises, and mindfulness techniques to help alleviate pain, promote healing, and enhance your overall well-being. What to Expect

  • Targeted Postures and Movements: Our yoga routines focus on areas commonly affected by chronic pain, such as the back, neck, and joints, to provide relief and improve flexibility.

  • Breathing Exercises (Pranayama): Learn techniques to calm your nervous system and reduce stress, which can exacerbate pain.

  • Mindfulness and Meditation: Practice mindfulness to manage your pain perception and increase your pain tolerance, fostering a positive mental state.

  • Professional Guidance: Sessions are led by Kathy, our experienced yoga instructor, with the support of Dr. Parisa Soltani, our Medical Director and Pain Specialist, ensuring you receive expert care and advice.

  • Community Support: Join a group of individuals facing similar challenges and build a supportive network that promotes healing and well-being.

For Public Attendees

 

Non-member attendees (public attendees) are. most welcome to join each session for $15 per class. Alternatively, you can enroll in our 12-week virtual pain management program, which is fully MSP-covered. This program offers in-depth self-management strategies for chronic pain through fun, interactive virtual sessions, and includes one weekly in-person yoga class at no additional cost.

 

For Parsa Wellness Clinic's “Turn Pain into Power” Program Participants

 

Our “Pain into Power” program participants enjoy this class free of charge. Please specify your membership status when registering below.

Event Terms & Policies

Refund & Cancellation Policy

For Public Attendees (Non-Members)

  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to receive a full refund.

  • No refunds will be provided for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the event.

Pain into Power Program Participants:

  • Participants are encouraged to notify the clinic 24 hours prior to the event if they are unable to attend a session to allow others the opportunity to join.

 

Conduct and Participation Policy

  • Respectful Behaviour: All participants are expected to behave respectfully towards the instructor and fellow attendees.

  • Timeliness: Please arrive on time. Late arrivals may not be allowed to join the session once it has started to avoid disruptions.

  • Medical Clearance: If you have any medical conditions or injuries, please consult with your healthcare provider before participating in the yoga sessions.

  • Personal Belongings: Please bring your own yoga mat, water bottle, and any other personal items you may need. Shared equipment will not be provided.
